The Trask River from 200 ft above and 900 ft below Gold Creek at Trask Hatchery (this includes the “hatchery hole”) is closed to fishing July 16 to Oct. 15.
The Dam Hole (Mile Post 7 on Trask River Road up to Blue Ridge Creek) will close to all fishing Sept. 1 through Nov. 30.
Chinook fishing remains best in the Trask tidewater, although some fish have moved into the lower river and more should be coming in this week. Hatchery coho are in the river and the hatchery has gotten a good number back to the trap.
Anglers will find sea-run cutthroat trout throughout the Trask, and in both the North and South Forks. Resting pool surveys observed decent numbers throughout the river basin. Check the regulations for open areas and bait restrictions.
