Best bets for the weekend? Trout and Chinook
- In some locations it could be a banner year for spring hatchery trout fishing. Due to poor water conditions last year and a bleak outlook for the summer, several districts are changing their trout stocking plans. Foregoing summer stocking and stocking more trout this spring when water conditions are better. Check for updates in the zone reports.
- Spring Chinook are showing up, and being caught, in several river systems including Nestucca Bay and tidewater, Tillamook Bay and Trask Tidewater and the lower Columbia in the NW Zone. And in the Rogue and Umpqua basins in the SW Zone.
