Summer steelhead fishing has picked up on the Siletz and anglers are catching fish every day. The river has dropped into summer like conditions and the bank anglers in the gorge are starting to consistently catch fish throughout. Mid-July is typically the peak of the summer steelhead run but this year it is slightly later due to the high water and cooler temperatures. The peak for summer steelhead is typically June-August.
Cutthroat trout are also abundant and available throughout the Siletz basin, check the regulations for opens areas and bag limits.
