Anglers have zeroed in on the bite

Naci has held steady at 23 percent of capacity for several weeks, and anglers have zeroed in on the bite. Topwater, crankbaits, and small shad patterned swimbaits have been working well for spotted bass in the mornings. As the day warms up anglers have been switching to a variety of finesse baits in 5 to 30 feet of water, and midday has been a good time to target the deepest fish with vertical spoons. Evenings provide a second shot at the topwater action. White bass fishing has been great for anglers finding boiling fish. Topwater, spoons, and in line spinners all worked during the feeding frenzies. Many white bass anglers troll spoons and small swimbaits until they spot a boil. Crappie were reported by anglers using small live minnows over submerged brush.
