Bass anglers reported another good week of fishing

The lake held near 22 percent of capacity, and bass anglers reported another good week of fishing. Topwater and crankbaits worked well first thing in the mornings. After that most anglers switched to darter head grubs, Carolina rigs, and drop shot in deeper water. Vertical spoons scored the occasional bite from bass holding near deeper shad schools, but that bite takes some patients. White bass boiled throughout the lake and anglers trolled white spinners, spoons, and small swimbaits for bites. After locating boiling fish anglers threw topwater or spoons into the boils for some solid white bass action. Catfish anglers used cut mackerel, dip bait, and chicken liver for bites, and bluegill ate redworms, waxworms, and mealworms.
