Fishing has been slow in the lower river.
But boat anglers are catching a mix of fall Chinook and coho in the estuary. This is just the beginning of the coho return. Anglers are reminded that wild coho must be released. Most anglers are trolling downstream of the Hwy 101 bridge, but anglers are having some success up toward the mouth of Indian Creek. Anglers have been using anchovies or anchovies with a spinner blade. Flashers have been very effective this year.
Huntley Park seining project has started for the year and this is a great resource for anglers wanting the fish the lower Rogue. Anglers can check ODFW’s Fish Count page to get the two week updates on fish movement
