Are fishing for both rainbow trout and our stripper activity remains strong. However, we have some excellent hunting opportunities in our area and throughout the state of Arizona, that I would like to bring to attention now and again.
Our local angler and hunter Gary Regan was able to fill his cow elk tag in unit 7 west. He was hunting with his dog Bell in the higher elevation in thick timber. This is a rifle hunt, and his choice was a 30.06 at about 125 yards. now back to our local fishing.
We are getting rainbow trout from the Willow Beach Hatchery and anglers are doing best from shore. For bait its night crawlers or power bait that has been producing the best. Various spinners have been bringing in limits for our anglers. I have been hearing that a few stripers have been landed mostly from shore and anglers using swim baits doing the best in the 5-to-12-pound range.
Up on lake Mohave the water level is coming back up and anglers should watch for the boils for your best results. The coves near the power lines are always a good choice to check out watch for birds feeding on the shad and the stripers should be there. Not much word on the small mouth action, could be our weather change as we are getting colder. I mean colder for us in this part of the country no ice fishing in this area.
Anyway, hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and your story mostly thanks so much for all of your support.
