Anglers reported decent fishing at BV with crappie and catfish as the best bets. One of our contacts reported Crappie limits from his kayak on Wednesday. Crappie came on the troll with flicker shad and live shiners near structure. Crappie hold over rocky structure and around submerged brush and weeds. Generally, when you catch one crappie there will be others in the area. Catfish have been eating dip bait, fresh shrimp, and nightcrawlers in Lake Evans. Bass anglers scored some bites with Green Pumpkin Senkos, drop shot, and white spinnerbaits. There’s a trout plant scheduled for mid-February.
