Chinook salmon should be in the Kilchis and throughout the fishery. The Kilchis gets a later run than many basins so there should still be bright fish available here. The lower river will be the best opportunity to catch fish that are still in good shape. The Kilchis is also one of the first rivers to come back in shape after a rain event; it is fishable now and depending on how much rain we get Thursday, should fish through the weekend.
The catch-and-release fishery for chum on the Kilchis ended on Nov. 15. The basin is still open for Chinook salmon, but anglers should take care to avoid targeting Chum.
