Report your 2021 hunt by Jan. 31
Just a reminder that all big game and turkey hunters who bought a tag need to report their hunt, even if they didn’t hunt or take an animal. Also a reminder that reporting early will help you avoid the last minute crush of procrastinators. Learn more about how to report.
Steelhead anglers: Keep an eye on water levels
Our biologists report recent storms have caused steelhead rivers to be running high and fast – challenging conditions for steelhead fishing. However, once river levels begin to drop later this weekend into next week, the steelhead bite will be on. You’ll want to be on the water for that.

Copies of the new regulations are available at vendors or online – fishing, big game hunting. Check out what’s new for 2022.
Don’t forget to buy your 2022 license
Game bird hunters will need a new license for 2022, though state and federal stamps purchased in 2021 will remain valid through the end of the season.
Trout fishing 101: Albany, Jan. 29
Participants will learn where to go, what gear to buy and how to clean your catch. A two-hour class will be followed by a chance to fish a nearby pond. Learn more and register.
