Largemouth and spotted bass were reported in deeper water

Kaweah rose to 10 percent of capacity, and fishing has been fair. Largemouth and spotted bass were reported in deeper water, and they went for drop shot, Ned rigs, and jigs. Darker colors like green pumpkin, Margarita Mutilator, and black seemed to get the most attention. There were also reports of bass falling for vertical spoons and deep diving crankbaits. The crappie bite took off this week and we had a report yesterday with a full stringer of slabs on jigs from a Hobie Kayak. Catfish ate chicken liver, dip bait and cut anchovies. There’s a trout plant scheduled for the week of the 18th.
